What is Negotiation?
Negotiation is a process involving communication and action. It can involve two sides or many sides. You can negotiate on your own behalf or you can have someone negotiate for you. Sometimes the different sides have equal power and sometimes they have unequal power. In every negotiation each side has wants and needs. In every negotiation the different sides have shared interests, and in some negotiations they have opposing interests as well.
Every negotiation requires communication, and if communication is not occurring, then the parties need to find a way to establish communication.
